What’s In A Chart-Topper: Into the World of Pop
Join Grammy-nominated producer-songwriter Tat Tong as he brings you into the world of pop music. Learn about how he starts developing ideas for a new song, and how a song is then brought to life through arrangement and production. Get a glimpse of the global music markets, and how artistic talents are developed in his work as Head of A&R (Artists and Repertoire) at Sony Music Greater China.

Los Angeles and Singapore-based producer Tat Tong is currently Head of A&R at Sony Music Greater China, and has been signed to Universal Music Publishing since 2009. No stranger to busting out hits with Hollywood and Asian stars, his discography includes 80x platinum hits, and global credits include Luis Fonsi, Troye Sivan, CNCO, SHINee, Show Luo, and JJ Lin. Tat Tong co-wrote and co-produced Troye Sivan’s “Happy Little Pill”, which catapulted to #1 on iTunes in 55 countries and reached the Top 5 in the Billboard charts. With over 60 Top 20 hits under his belt, Tong was also one of the masterminds behind the Mandarin remix of “Despacito”, in collaboration with JJ Lin and Luis Fonsi. Together with American Idol alumnus Jovany Javier, he writes and produces songs under the moniker, The Swaggernautz.
